A real-life Dirty Harry?

ree

Dave Toschi was an inspector of the San Fransico Police Department from 1952-1983. He is known to possibly have been the inspiration for the Harry Calahan character in Dirty Harry and Steve McQueen's character Lieutenant Frank Bullitt in 1968's Bullitt.

Dave Toschi wore his gun in a trademark quick-draw holster, was constantly eating animal crackers, and known for dressing well. He is known for having a hand in the still unsolved Zodiac killings investigation as well as the well-known Zebra murders, a series of racially motivated murders and attacks committed by a black nationalist gang during the mid-1970's.
